\nOpen iTunes
\nStep 2<\/span>
\nFind the song that you want to make into a ringtone
\nStep 3<\/span>
\nListen to the song and find the part of it you want to use.
\nThe chorus may be a good place to start
\nStep 4<\/span>
\nWrite down the start and stop times of the clip
\nStep 5<\/span>
\nRight-click the song and select “Get Info.”
\nStep 6<\/span>
\nClick the “Options” tab
\nStep 7<\/span>
\nType in the start time of your ringtone in the text box next to
\n“Start Time” in the minutes:seconds (i.e. 2:01) format
\nStep 8<\/span>
\nType in the end time of your ringtone in the text box next to “Stop Time.”
\nMake sure the ringtone is no more than 40 seconds long
\nStep 9<\/span>
\nClick “OK.”
\nStep 10<\/span>
\nRight-click your song again and select “Convert Selection to AAC.”
\nWait for iTunes to convert your song. It will create a duplicate version
\nStep 11<\/span>
\nFind the file. It’s usually in your User folder under Music > iTunes > iTunes
\nMusic and under the band’s name. It will have an extension of “m4a.”
\nStep 12<\/span>
\nReplace the “m4a” extension of your ringtone with “m4r”. You can either double-click slowly
\nto rename your file, or right-click and select “Get Info” on a Mac or “Rename” on a Windows PC
\nStep 13<\/span>
\nClick “Use .m4r” or the PC equivalent when the system warns you that the change may affect the use of your file
\nStep 14<\/span>
\nDouble-click the ringtone file. ITunes will automatically add it to your ringtones folder in your iTunes Music Library
\nor manually drag to the ring-tone category
